One of a kind…

There are some SL designers that just stand alone. They are unmistakably unique and innovative in their styling. They create designs that are recognizable from a mile away, and their work caries a style and quality signature of it’s own. This week we drop the spotlight on one of those designers, the one and only Morrigan Denimore and the The Black Canary (TBC).

Many of the designs from TBC come in male or female version, or are completely unisex. Here I present the decidedly unisex ensemble “Fanfare”. Like many of the designs by Mr. Denimore,  the Fanfare has strong historic influences. The ability to mix and match aspects of 18th and 19th century western design with unique textures and a very modern flare are, in fact, the calling card of TBC. In the Fanfare we see this influence in the laced high wasted  trousers, the highly detailed sleeve poofs, and the intricately designed shirt tail and bow.

Perhaps my favorite aspects of the Fanfare outfit are the combination of the shirt cut and the texture choices. The collar and double breasting of the shirt are particular favorites. They have a very masculine, military uniform look to the cut, but this potentially utilitarian look is offset by the delicate and elegant feel of a soft floral and silk texture. This soft masculinity is only amplified by the addition of an exquisitely detailed sash and bow.

Many many more of the brilliant designs from Morrigan Denimore and the The Black Canary will be on display January 2nd and 3rd during the latest edition of The Opium Tales by Opium Fashion Agency. Come join us for the tale of Babes in Toyland  to be dazzled by these designs in a way that only Opium could achieve.

The texture of the skirt also the gloves and the dress top are ornamented with amazing little hearts. If you take a look at the back you can see again the love for the details of Silver rose Designs, the corset is hold together by crossed lines. Over all a masterpice of a dress. Beauty Comes in White

Posted in Reviews with tags , , , , , on December 30, 2009 by Brie Kovacs

I am a fan of a simple color palate, something with clean lines and good texturing. It makes for the most amazing pictures. This is apparent in the Cherubim dress from Mister Morrigan Denimore of The Black Canary. Known for his monotone color scheme his clothing anything but lacks in beauty as you can surely see. This dress is a beautiful victorian style winter dress that is sure to make anyone feel special wearing it.

This ensemble comes with the beautiful white dress, matching winter shawl and hat. But a quick trip around the store you will find white stockings with lacy tops to compliment this dress. I matched it with a pair of white ankle boots from Bax but even a sweet pair of mary janes would do fabulously.

Please come see more of The Black Canary as well as other talented Designers this weekend at Opium Tales: Babes in Toyland Saturday, January 2nd at 11am and January 3rd at 5pm. Hope to see you there!

Today I got a very sweet dress to blog. The “Maiden’s Tears” from The Black Canary (~*(TBC)*~). The name previews a bit of the outfit it self ;-) A sweet long floating maid’s dress with a loght vontage playfully touch. The designer Morrigan Denimore has a nice sensual sense for a very special and magnificant style. It seems to be vontage and it is nevertheless timeless!

The texture of this amazing design are very high detailed and realistic.  We have a  white top with amazing playfully black ribbons and sweet dolly like, puffy sleves. The chest part is decorated with a nice small and filigree ornament in black…

The puffy sleeves are ended by fantastic black ribbons that are adorable textured. If you take a look at the backside of the dress you can see that a nother great white ribbon grace the long black skirt. The skirt strats very high in the aist and goes down till the floor. The seam is decorated with amazing white litle ornaments. The skirt itself is amazing flexi and waves with every step against your legs. What even cought my eyes was the nice backside of whote top. & bacl buttons close the top in the back and show off again the love for the detail of Morrigan Denimore.

Will this amazing design of  ~*(TBC)*~  ( The Black Canary) also be part of the great Opium Tales Show that Opium presents on the 2nd and 3rd of January? If you wanna find out don’t miss that great show of the Opium Fashion Agency ;-)

2009 is almost over and I think this is the perfect excuse to gather, meet with friends and loved ones to celebrate our accomplishments during the past 12 months and toast for a wonderful and bright 2010.

I am sure in these days you’ll be invited to parties, ballrooms and many other events in which you would love to turn heads your way and dress in class and style…

Well, I am sure you could achieve it wearing Mumble, one of the stunning last releases from Barbarella Cioc, the creative mind behind B! Fashion.

This is an amazing black dress, enterily built in lace, tulle and satin, with a highly detailed embroidery as  a whole pattern for the outfit. Just exquisite!

As you can see in the close up picture above, the bodice has a sexy V cut, with lace and neat embroidery work suggesting some skin, being sure to add a quote of sexyness required to be the center of the event. Satin long black gloves complete the overall look of this fantastic work of art.

The skirt is also a hot number for this outfit, made of two superposed parts, a short silky ruffled one and a laced irregular overskirt also following the embroidery detailed pattern, perfect for several options for you to wear as you can see in the picture below!

We don’t have to worry to search and find a matching pair of shoes, Barbarella also did it for us, including highly detailed stiletto sandals to match with the gown.

The shoes are the perfect complement for the whole outfit, completely built in soft satin and adorned with eye-catching satin big bows by the sides.

Completely scripted, you are able to match your skin tone, fit your ankle size, change nail colors and add or remove toe rings!

Let’s start 2010 in this highly detailed creation! Be sure to head over B! Fashion store to check for this and many other outfits available!

Be fashionable with B! FASHION

Italian fashion is sort of like Swiss clockwork: almost no one does it better. This certainly is true for Barbarella Cioc and her SL brand, B! Fashion – and today, I am going to show you the first of a handful of amazing new dresses from her collection. Introducing Luccica

Wow what a dress! Luccica is a stunning sight to see, with its sparkling silver bodice tied up on the left shoulder with a large flexi bow tie and the amazingly light and airy lace skirt, made from layers of thin shimmering lace and flaring out in the back. Two versions of the skirt are included, one with the glow effect and one without, and the outfit is completed with the Cristallo earring and necklace set as well as matching heels with prim feet – of course, with fully configurable skin and toenail colours as well as ring options.

In the picture to the right, you can not only see the lovely heels in detail, but also catch a glimpse of the amazing lace fabric of the skirt and its unique honeycomb pattern:)

Luccica is the perfect alternative to the classic cocktail dress and is certain to draw fascinated looks at any high society event. And I love the way it shows off your body curves and the long legs without revealing too much skin:) The lovely necklace and earrings in silver, shaped somewhat like snow flakes, put the perfect finishing touch to this sparkling, glittering dream of an outfit.

Be sure to watch this space for more great designs from B! FASHION, coming very soon:)

Giada Black by Jador

I love this little number from Jador. Giada comes in black shown here or in white. It’s a great everyday knit sweaterdress.  It features a resizable skirt, a furry forearm attachment, and a wonderful shoulder shawl. It has a black on black pattern that while subtle adds a heavy touch of va va va voom.

Claudia, the Silver Rose Collectable Doll

Posted in Reviews on December 29, 2009 by Brie Kovacs

I love playing Dollie, wearing cute dresses and a unique skin, slap a key in my back and go. It is a lot of fun and just something different that SL offers you to do to stand out in a crowd. Most dolls fall under the Lolita category so do not take that word wrong, some people just want to be a cutesy doll… Like me.

Claudia is a beautiful gothic lolita style of dress that comes complete with thigh high socks, 2 system skirts and 2 skirt options, flexi and non flexi. It generally is a very nice dress but with a few touches here and there can be a perfect dollie dress. Also works as a victorian style dress and a dress for child avatars. Silver Rose has great attention to detail and the craftsmanship is worth every penny. This is a must-have.

New Releases at The Graceful Lily

Posted in Reviews on December 29, 2009 by angexxquandry

So today I recieved some beautiful pieces from The Graceful Lily. I fell in love with this dress instantly. During the photoshoot with this gown, I had the best time incoporating  hot salsa moves to really make this gown ‘flow.’ The skirt billows as you sway, surely making this piece a number one choice if you are looking to hit the ballrooms with a special someone.

This gown can certainly accencuate ‘the curves’. The sexy dip near the behind is pure sex appeal which is one of my favorite parts of this lovely evening gown. So come on down ladies and pick up your very own copy of, “Chandra” by The Graceful Lily!

Our next piece from The Graceful Lily is “Party Animal.”

Back in my old SL Days, I use to love to party! Some of the characteristics I would absolutely adore in a party piece is a bit of spice, class, and craziness. All of those qualities are combined in this ensemble. First off, zebra and sheer screams naughty, hehe. And as most of you know, I’m a sculpty freak. Seventy – five percent of my closet is made up with outfits with one or more sculpty parts because basically, sculpties do enhance the appearance of an outfit.

Overall, I give The Graceful Lily’s new releases a 10 out of 10. I plan to wear more from her in the future.
