Lost City – Desert Future – Strange Secrets?

January the 31th 3010. A cold winterday and I was stranging over the mainstreet of our city in the afternoon. I felt restless…my mind could not calm down but I did not know the reason…

The wind was blowing through my hair and it felt really good to feel a cold breeze on the skin.

I walked down the street and back up as…I turned around…I thought I heared a scrape. I stopped looking in the little strees to the right…nothing…I walked in a bit, but I saw nothing and the noise stopped. I was walking back to the mainstrees and stopped at the corner to smoke a cigarette. I was leaning against some empty boxes…

…suddenly I heared the scrape again…this time a little louder. I turned my head and still…the loud scrape..it came out of one of the garbage cans…I opened the cap and I was terrified…

In there was a strange ugly creature scratching with his long dirty nails against the walls of the garbage can. It mumbles strange things in a foreign language and I tried to understand this words..it was nearly not possible and I was really scared…the only thing that I did always understand was some about the 4th, 5th and 6th of february and always some about Opium and a sim….

I closed the cap of the trash bin and shuddered. But always the facts of the 4th and 5th and the Opium Sim came back in my mind and I went home to look at her internet where this Sim is and she marked her calendar..even if she was scared..she became nosy…

If you are curious too…join me on the 4th and 5th of february when i make my way to the Opium Sim…;-)

Recording.

The swirling wind throws fistfuls of sleet through the darkness. Yellow light spills out of the windows of the low, uniform buildings lined up along the track.

I hide behind a tree, keep my head steady as I pan left to right with the eyecam.

“On nights like this sensible people stay at home and, I confess, that’s where I’d like to be right now. But there’s a story to break, events to report.” I keep my voice low. I’ve learnt already that this establishment is heavily guarded. And if the agency hadn’t sacked me for reasons of economy I wouldn’t be alone here now, I’d have backup.

I make a mental note to cut in some views I shot yesterday: a four storey red-brick building with a line of spotlights suspended from its eaves, shining down so that the yard where military vehicles are neatly arranged is lit without shadow. “Here in C Block,” I voice over, “the military scientists have been working. It is C Block where they took what remained of the landing craft and it is in C Block that they imprisoned its pilot. Already, they will have bought the silence of the farmer who witnessed the crash. And if the man could not be bought they will have silenced him by other means for these are brutal people, ruled by their fear. Learning that your race is not unique only ever happens once.”

Headlights appear suddenly, picking out the sleet like a swarm of fireflies. A jeep, crowded with braying, youthful soldiers. I press my body to the tree, willing them not to look in my direction. The jeep skids, straightens, heads off into the night.

I hunch low and run through the slush, keeping a course parallel with the metalled road. I’m cold and wet but I must keep going. This is my big chance. In fact, the agency did me a favour: when I break this story I’ll have my pick of agencies, each one begging for my services.

I spot a fence and stop well short. It looks like an ordinary chain-link fence, but after all the high tech gadgets I’ve seen in the last day or so I know that won’t be the case. There will be cameras at the very least, perhaps infrared beams, sensors in the ground.

“My first real test,” I mutter, panning left to right. “Do I take the subtle approach – try to find some other way through and so avoid detection? Or should I be direct – just cut a hole and take them by surprise?”

I pull my light jacket more tightly shut, wishing I had been able to dress more sensibly. Sometimes you don’t stop to think. Sometimes you take whatever chance presents itself.

As I consider my options, I pan back along the slush-covered road, retracing the course I have taken. I stop with the eyecam picking out a square building, spotlights lined up along its eaves. I turn to the fence again. “I’ve decided,” I say, stepping forward. “Sometimes you have to take a gamble. I’m going to cut a hole, but I’m going to have to be fast.”

I take a piece of wire between forefinger and thumb, squeeze. The metal pops and I move down to the next link, steadily cutting my way through, cutting my way out.

This is so exciting!!!! Opium is created something truly amazing and one of a kind, can not wait for you to see it!

Soviet Kitsch with Ora Trei Designs

Spotlight

Ora Trei Designs is just one of those places that keeps drawing you in. Case in point — my last Opium post was on Ora Trei Designs. This last visit over there, I decided that when I wrote about their lovely designs, that I’d make it a little more fun. Have a theme. I hope you enjoy reading it.

My name is Dasha Mogilevich and I am a российская принцесса мафии, or a Russian mob princess (in English). My father is one of the most powerful crime bosses in the world. He also happens to be grooming me to take over the family “business”. Due to the sensitive nature of our business, I cannot give out specific details about what it entails.

Soviet Kitsch

Since he’s wanted in the United States and several other countries, he’s sent me (along with this briefcase that he told me NOT to open) to Brighton Beach, New York to be the head of the Russian mafia syndicate of North and South America. Why did he send me? Because I went to a private school in New York and he wants me to continue my education at NYU. My father is big on education.

Soviet Kitsch

I know my father isn’t a saint. I know he’s done some very bad things. I’ve already done some bad things. Things I thought myself not capable of doing. And I know that I’ll do more. In this line of business, it can’t be helped. You dwell on it too much, you get taken out. It’s kill or be killed.

Soviet Kitsch

In my short time here, I’ve already established myself as someone not to mess with. Not only because of my connections and family, but because of my ferocious temper, which I seem to have inherited from my father.

Soviet Kitsch

I thumb my nose at limousines that my father has provided for me to be shuttled around in. This is my turf and I’m not afraid to use the subway. I’m off to a meeting with some of my “generals” that are under me. Just another day at the office.

Grab your mosquito netting and come stalking with me as I call on my inner Kat :)Nikita Fride has definite insight on all things wild as can be seen from the selections below.

The picture above shows me wearing  one option of the Sexy Dress Ripper Jeans outfit. “Rawr” can you say HOT. This ensemble comes with the dress, top prim shirt with bows and socks shown here. The scarf is an added bonus and is held on with cute little safety pins. Also included (not shown) is a tiny fur-trimmed prim skirt (for those colder days?) and a wintry snow tattoo to cool off this temperature rising number.

The !Skin Jungle Kind – Bronze Body Tone has exquisite details from the scratches and smudges obtained while stalking your prey through the jungle

down to the meticulous details of the cat face, combined with the Long EyeLashes Cat and the Yellow Cat Eyes all by Nikita Fride you then have a purrrfect outfit.

But oh wait we must not forget the hair, and what could be better than the cat with her own pet wolf.

Bright Hair Jungle King – Cream Strawberry

Nice doggy .. erm mebbe not, you might not want to pet this pooch without the owner’s permission.

All of the aforementioned come in different colors and styles to numerous to mention here so why not prowl on down to Nikita Fride and see what else there is to see.

I just love retro fashion, that’w why  I just love the dress Marana from Haute Style & Co. The cute polka dotted fabric and black lace mingle together to make this an adorable find. The sweetheart bodice ties in the back with a cute black lace bow. I’m not sure HSC is still around, but if you can find it it’s a great store full of wonderful dresses such as this.

Hair from ETD

Skin from Belleza

Lashes from Chaisuki

Zip it with Gems & Kisses

Posted in News, Opium Fashion Agency, Opium Insight, Opium Insight - New Releases, Reviews with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , on January 29, 2010 by Rhonda Pennell

Deliziosa Vendetta of Gems & Kisses has quickly endeared herself to many lovers of haute couture jewelry with an edge, and one of her newest releases, a beautiful necklace named Precious Zip, proves once again why. It is available in gold and platinum versions, and I am happy to show you the gold version today:)

Whether you wear a glamourous evening gown or go for a chic but simple look like this one, wearing the necklace is guaranteed to give you an instant fashion boost and make you feel amazingly elegant. True to its name, it is designed in the form of a zipper but completely made from gold and encrusted with diamonds in a checkerboard pattern. A clever idea made into an amazingly detailed piece of jewelry, the Precious Zip necklace brings your upper chest area into focus right down to the first hint of cleavage, and even taunts you a little bit with the idea of pulling the zipper further open…only Gems & Kisses could pull this feat off:)

Take a look at the close-up photo below to get an idea of just how intricately detailed this wonderful necklace is…and once you are able to tear yourself loose from it, well, there is lots and lots more where it came from! Do not miss out on it:)

Squinternet Larnia strikes again!  And Mirelle is delightful!

Whenever I see a lovely creation, I think about it as a work of art.  As with any artistic treasure, I believe it tells something about its creator.  In this case, the word “delightful” comes to mind.  Delightful butterfly detailing along the bodice is delicate and intricate, and the realistic “pearl” buttons are simple yet perfect!

Magnificent colors and beautiful textures from Donna Flora.  Mirelle is marvelous!  Mainstore is right at your fingertips:  http://slurl.com/secondlife/Bonin/173/137/22

Bliss Couture – Sassy look with knits!

Posted in Reviews with tags , , , , , , , , on January 29, 2010 by Herradura Baar

When I was just a little girl, my grandmother taught me how to knit.   It was fun to do but I never really got more creative than a few dozen scarves I ended up giving everyone for Xmas that year.  But knits have always been fashionably forward and Amutey DeCuir, designer and CEO of Bliss Couture, has created the kind of outfits that would inspire me to knit again!  The outfit is *Bliss Couture* Mara Sexy Knit Dress and just my luck I got to create a fabulous look in one of my favorite colors – Olive.  But Ms. DeCuir knitted this wonderful outfit in shades of Black, Red, Brown, Teal and Purple too.

When I first tried on this outfit, two words came to mine:  Sexy & Sassy!  This outfit comes with a sweater, skirt and matching thigh-high stockings.  The sweater starts with an oversized turtleneck and long sleeves but stops just right there to show a glimpse of what is underneath to make this top both sexy and daring.  The skirt is a new trend I’ve been seeing in SL – the bubble skirt.  This fun rounded skirt is short enough to show off the legs and with the low waist-line it really showcases your fab stomach!  This is an outfit I would have fun wearing while shopping with my friends or hitting the clubs – it’s for the gal know what she wants and goes for it!

This outfit can be worn with just about any type of boot or pump in either dark greens or browns.  Since I was going for that fun look with my style, I decided to go with sneakers instead – and used my PornStar Xtra Hi-Tops MultiColor by Urban Bomb Unit.  Ok, don’t let ‘Pornstar’ scare you off!  If anything these are the most versatile pair of sneakers that have oodles of color choices that you can mix & match with these Converse Chuck style sneakers.  BTW, those sneakers are unisex – guys can fit them to their feet too!  To keep with this fun sassy look I went with the really short hairstyle of Who Knew from Exile and matched it with the perfect skin for redheads – April 04 Fair from Laqroki.

Pick your favorite color or buy the fatpack, you cannot go wrong with Bliss Couture’s Mara Sexy Knit Dress.  This is an outfit you’ll find yourself wanting to use again and again, I know it’ll be in my favorite outfits folder!
