Spotlight on SL Top Designers – House of Rfyre

The Goth World has been with us for centuries but exploded into a culture when the likes of Mary Shelley, Bram Stoker and others created their genre of the Supernatural living amongst a victorian era.  These writings have evolved thru the ages with modern day adaptations of this lifestyle done by authors such as Anne Rice, Stephenie Meyer and Charlaine Harris.  Throughout the decades, a lifestyle of Victorian fashion intertwined with these creatures have made Second Life a prime source for the Goth World.

And what better way to immerse yourself into this Second Life world by first shopping at House of Rfyre, home of Goth Couture fashions.  Designer Raven Pennyfeather is a champion of creating very detailed and high end fashion that not only will blend in well with Second Life’s Goth Community but be fashion forward at any SL event.  Today I had the opportunity to style Rfyre’s Fury Womens Noir – a beautiful slimming black dress suit of Satin, Lace & Feathers.

This outfit starts wth a black brocade jacket that is trimmed in lace and is finished with a tulle neckline and satin trim cuffs.  The skirt is a beautiful black satin slim skirt that is pleated at the bottom.  Finishing this outfit is a wide black patent belt that combines the jacket & skirt perfectly.  Include with this outfit is a black pillbox hat topped with feathers & a veil along with textured stockings.  What I love about this outfit is it is beautiful detailed but versatile too.

Styling it was a real joy and I wanted to create something that matched the victorian feel of the outfit.  With a well designed outfit like Women Fury Noir there is only one pair of shoes I felt defined the outfit best – a pair of Bax Ankle Boots in Black Suede.  I love how you can customize these boots to fit your outfit and mine were finished with a black lace top to the boot.  I wanted to create the image of a young widow during victorian times so I opted to use a makeup finish that was not overly done and I loved Aimesi’s Sonja in Cashmere Face1 – well detailed and haunting look.  I finished that with Exile’s Love Song2 in Ash.  Finally, a simple but elegant necklace from Vassnia – the Gothika Black Cross Necklace.

This is not an outfit just for fans of Goth but anyone who loves high fashion!

Soviet Kitsch with Ora Trei Designs

Ora Trei Designs is just one of those places that keeps drawing you in. Case in point — my last Opium post was on Ora Trei Designs. This last visit over there, I decided that when I wrote about their lovely designs, that I’d make it a little more fun. Have a theme. I hope you enjoy reading it.

My name is Dasha Mogilevich and I am a российская принцесса мафии, or a Russian mob princess (in English). My father is one of the most powerful crime bosses in the world. He also happens to be grooming me to take over the family “business”. Due to the sensitive nature of our business, I cannot give out specific details about what it entails.

Since he’s wanted in the United States and several other countries, he’s sent me (along with this briefcase that he told me NOT to open) to Brighton Beach, New York to be the head of the Russian mafia syndicate of North and South America. Why did he send me? Because I went to a private school in New York and he wants me to continue my education at NYU. My father is big on education.

I know my father isn’t a saint. I know he’s done some very bad things. I’ve already done some bad things. Things I thought myself not capable of doing. And I know that I’ll do more. In this line of business, it can’t be helped. You dwell on it too much, you get taken out. It’s kill or be killed.

In my short time here, I’ve already established myself as someone not to mess with. Not only because of my connections and family, but because of my ferocious temper, which I seem to have inherited from my father.

I thumb my nose at limousines that my father has provided for me to be shuttled around in. This is my turf and I’m not afraid to use the subway. I’m off to a meeting with some of my “generals” that are under me. Just another day at the office.

Bliss Couture – Sassy look with knits!

When I was just a little girl, my grandmother taught me how to knit.   It was fun to do but I never really got more creative than a few dozen scarves I ended up giving everyone for Xmas that year.  But knits have always been fashionably forward and Amutey DeCuir, designer and CEO of Bliss Couture, has created the kind of outfits that would inspire me to knit again!  The outfit is *Bliss Couture* Mara Sexy Knit Dress and just my luck I got to create a fabulous look in one of my favorite colors – Olive.  But Ms. DeCuir knitted this wonderful outfit in shades of Black, Red, Brown, Teal and Purple too.

When I first tried on this outfit, two words came to mine:  Sexy & Sassy!  This outfit comes with a sweater, skirt and matching thigh-high stockings.  The sweater starts with an oversized turtleneck and long sleeves but stops just right there to show a glimpse of what is underneath to make this top both sexy and daring.  The skirt is a new trend I’ve been seeing in SL – the bubble skirt.  This fun rounded skirt is short enough to show off the legs and with the low waist-line it really showcases your fab stomach!  This is an outfit I would have fun wearing while shopping with my friends or hitting the clubs – it’s for the gal know what she wants and goes for it!

This outfit can be worn with just about any type of boot or pump in either dark greens or browns.  Since I was going for that fun look with my style, I decided to go with sneakers instead – and used my PornStar Xtra Hi-Tops MultiColor by Urban Bomb Unit.  Ok, don’t let ‘Pornstar’ scare you off!  If anything these are the most versatile pair of sneakers that have oodles of color choices that you can mix & match with these Converse Chuck style sneakers.  BTW, those sneakers are unisex – guys can fit them to their feet too!  To keep with this fun sassy look I went with the really short hairstyle of Who Knew from Exile and matched it with the perfect skin for redheads – April 04 Fair from Laqroki.

Pick your favorite color or buy the fatpack, you cannot go wrong with Bliss Couture’s Mara Sexy Knit Dress.  This is an outfit you’ll find yourself wanting to use again and again, I know it’ll be in my favorite outfits folder!

Feathered Snowqueen

Every year we go out on shopping.. Trying to find THE outfit which makes you look like a real Snowqueen. Well, a few days ago I found that outfit. Let’s meet one of Raven Pennyfeather’s – House Of RFyre – latest release; SnowQueen.

This amazing lightblue dress, with a shimmering of white and silver, looks absolutly goreous on every woman. The feathers are all flexi and swirls around your body, with full of grace and elegance. The beautifully embroidered light blue top leads to a jeweled collar and a white feathered stole which also covers the shoulders (the stole isn’t showned in the blog).

I want to go extreme, so matched the outfit with hair from “Exile”, called “Breeze Remix/Blizzard”. Wild and really feminine!
This skin from “Red Queen” really gives me a mysterious and cold look. She really needs a cup of hot chocolate and a warm blanket! I always go to Red Queen when I need an unusual skin, you really should check them out!

IC1 Sometimes its all about the ….O

Laffs catchy huh ! but seriously Look at this beautiful dress and tell me who would’nt feel sensual combine that with Opium scent and watch heads turn and the trails of eyes locked onto you.

What I’m wearing ….. the hot new design by HSC Abyss for Opium, soft sensual and alluring ! Opium scent to fill the senses and if you think I’m kidding about this next time you see an Opium model ask them how hard it is to fight the urge to follow Ludwig around!!

The hair was featured in the Runway Kids show over the past weekend, Love song in champagne by Exile…glamarous and sexy and the color and hilights frame the face perfectly.

My skin is by Symphony Skins,  SS #2 Vivace Pacific. The jewelry from Shiney Things .. Triple Drop Chain in Ruby with matching hoop earrings…just the perfect touch of color for Abyss. One of the best things about a classic black dress is how easy it is to accessorize. My shoes are from Lemania Indigo Designs Deep Black Pumps the stockings are from the  MP Dynasty Dress.
